Zdenka Miseje

Rooms Division Manager
Keeping a cool head through pandemics and months of construction ‘de-snagging’, Zdenka has brought order from chaos at Keble for over eight years. She joined the College in March 2014 as Head Housekeeper, having worked in hotels for most of her professional life, including five years as conference and wedding manager.
Zdenka’s career began as a hotel cleaner, and, through her resourcefulness and reliability, advanced to Rooms Division Manager in just over 15 years. When the Keble H B Allen Centre for graduate students opened in 2017, she was a clear choice for the newly-created post of HBAC Manager, and was instrumental in getting its graduate community and staff through the tumultuous first years of operation, global pandemic and all. Nevertheless, as she says, she couldn’t have done it without her team. “This team is just remarkable and what we have achieved together is so special and I’m incredibly grateful to them for working so hard over the past eight years.”
She currently oversees the Lodge and Housekeeping Departments at the H B Allen Centre and the Parks Road site, looks after commercial tenants and is responsible for all aspects of accommodation for everyone in the College.
Zdenka has a wealth of on-the-job experience, and has an impressive skill set, including first-rate communication and team building abilities. She excels at improving processes, reducing risk, maximizing efficiency and providing outstanding guest/student services.
Her favourite pastime is enduro mountain biking and you often find her, her long-suffering partner Frank and their dog Bella shredding their local mountain bike trials in Cannock Chase, Forest of Dean and Swinley Forest. She uses mountain biking as an escape from reality. A way to switch off from the stress of daily life. She tries to ride at least once a week, if not multiple times all year, no matter the weather.
