She is an accredited international advocacy trainer, having trained advocates all over the world, including at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Rehana was Called to the Bar in 2003, and was appointed King’s Counsel in 2022. She read Jurisprudence at Keble College between 1998 and 2001, which she describes as “one of the happiest, most eye-opening and inspirational times of my life”. She was awarded a Duke of Edinburgh Entrance Scholarship and Major Exhibition by the Inner Temple to undertake her Bar Vocational Course.

Rehana comes from humble beginnings as the daughter of two first generation Pakistani immigrants, from a working-class family in Derby. She and her siblings were the first members of the family to attend university and being awarded a place at Oxford University was “completely life changing”. “University was a financial struggle, and I could not have endured it without the invaluable support offered by the College. I am eternally indebted to Keble and feel privileged to be counted amongst its alumni”. Rehana tried her hand at almost everything at Keble, from rowing to serving on the JCR Committee. “I threw myself into Keble life and it enriched me in every way”.

Rehana works tirelessly to promote equality and diversity at the Bar. She was shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion at the Chambers UK Bar Awards 2021, and was listed by the BBC in its first ‘100 Women’ event in 2013 as one of its inspirational international women.
